Bay County Commissioner Keith Baker, District 4, moved to Bay County with his military family in 1968 at the age of 2. He attended public schools in Bay County, graduating from Rutherford High School in 1984. Sports, Baker says, have always been his passion, and after graduating high school he attended Gulf Coast Community College and finally Troy University on a baseball scholarship. Commissioner Baker received a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration and began his career with Bay County Parks and Recreation in 1990, spending more than 15 years in program development and sports field maintenance.
He transitioned to a position at Gulf Asphalt Co. (GAC) where he worked as a project manager/estimator for six years, working on such projects as the construction of the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport. In 2012, Commissioner Baker left GAC and became the director of Leisure Services for the City of Panama City, holding that position for six years before leaving to work full time as a Bay County Commissioner in 2018.
Commissioner Baker and his wife, Angie, have three children and are very involved in their faith at Hiland Park Baptist Church.
