THEY MUST BE COMPLETE, SIGNED AND HAVE A LEGABLE EMAIL FOR CORRESPONDENCE.   APPLICATIONS MUST BE SIGNED BY AN AUTHORIZED AGENT OF THE CONTRACTOR AND MUST BE NOTARIZED.

INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED.

  • Note:  The 50% rule is only applicable if the structure is located in a flood zone.  See FAQs and below for additional information.  For other than in a flood zone, repairs must meet the 6th Edition Florida Existing Building Code for repairs or an alteration if changing the original layout of a building, for an addition if adding to the height or area of a building, and for a change of use if using the building for a different purpose than the existing certificate of occupancy was issued.
  • Regarding window/door replacement:  The code does not require all windows to be replaced.  Only the damaged windows that are replaced need to meet code for wind design.  If the total cost of the renovation exceeds 30% of the assessed value of the structure, then the windows or doors need to meet the energy code.  But only for those items replaced.
