District 4 Commissioner: Guy M. Tunnell
Commissioner Guy M. Tunnell represents Bay County's District 4.
Commissioner Tunnell, a 4th-generation Bay Countian, was born Aug. 16, 1951
in Panama City.
He holds both a Bachelor’s and Masters of Science in
Criminal Justice from Rollins College, and has a 35-year career in law
enforcement, including serving as the police chief for the city of Lynn
Haven, Bay County sheriff, executive director of the Florida Department of
Law Enforcement, and a senior investigator for the State Attorney's Office
in Panama City. He formerly worked as a consultant for a defense contractor
specializing in Homeland Security and emergency response issues.

Commissioner Tunnell has served as an executive board member of the following organizations: Anchorage Children's Home (vice president); Bay County Boys and Girls Club; Bay Point Charity Billfish Tournament Board; Gulf Coast Community College Foundation; Gulf Coast College Criminal Justice Advisory Board (chairman); Florida Police Chiefs Association; lifetime member, Florida Sheriffs Association; National Sheriffs Association; Rotary Club, Lynn Haven, FL (Paul Harris Fellow); Fraternal organizations (Masonic, Scottish Rite-32ndKCCH, York Rite and Shrine);Westside Men's Club; honorary chairman, Bay County "Heart Walk," American Heart Association; Bay County Chamber of Commerce.
He married wife Patricia "Patty" Kelly Tunnell in 1970 and they have three
sons Cory and wife Missy, Jason and wife Salina and Brad. They have four
grandchildren, Hannah, Emma, Eli and Cooper. Commissioner Tunnell and Patty are
members of the Lynn Haven United Methodist Church.
